My deaf friend is looking for a doctor who will be able to speak directly to him, rather than through an interpreter. We aren't sure how to begin looking for this. Does anyone know of a doctor who knows ASL or SEE in NW Washington state, or maybe an online database or some resource for finding this?If your friend doesn't want an interpreter (which he/she is legally entitled to), the only other resource I can think of is to contact the American Medical Association directly and ask them. Most doctors are members of the AMA, and their complete information is kept in their database.
