upgraded to 2.01 but still wants .xml file

  • Hi all,
ive just upgraded to 2.01 from a much older version. I followed the guide in the wiki manual (http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=As_a_Dashboard) but when it boots i get a black screen with red text error messge saying xboxmediacentre.xml has an error in it!

I thought these new version didnt need the .xml file anymore. to go a bit further i deleted all the evoxdash.xbe and .cfg files and it still looks for .xml file on boot and gives teh same error screen.

Forgive me coz its a loooong time since i set this up but i cant remember what calls teh .xml file, could it be one of the settings in my bios? i really though they pointed toward the xbe files though

anyone suggest anything im thoroughly confused!

    TIA K..

  • OK im a retard, took a while but it deff was coz i didnt have evoxdash as the default file.

Case Closed, lets hope 2.01 was worth 4 hours lol

Ill leave this as a lesson to others lol

  • which 2.0.1 did you update to ..

    T3CH XBMC 2006-11-12 2.0.1 FAT

or a new SVN such as ..

    T3CH XBMC 2007-07-16 SVN rev9578

i suggest getting a new SVN build as it has way more improvments over the point release.

  • so i had a moment of clarity and i think i had xbmc.xbe as the dash file so ive replaced those but somewhere along i deleted the userdata file and now XBMC is throwing a error saying it needs a sources.xml file and it cant load it

  • oops missed another page in the manual that i also followed, teh set up as an application instruction (http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=As_an_Application)
