What are the actual facts concerning the citizenship of Barak Husein Obama?

  • Could he have been a student in Indonesian schools without losing his citizenship, if so did he/could he take steps to legally regain it?

  • You don't lose your citizenship if you go and study or live
    abroad, stop posting stupid questions.

  • He was born in Africa since his mother was not allowed to get on the plane to the states since she was so close to labor. After birth and when she was allowed to travel she went to Hawaii and had the birth certificate done there (as well as in Africa).

  • Oh for heaven's sake people. He was born in the United Sates of America...period. Just because one goes to another country to go to school, does not mean they lose their citizenship. What about all those Rhode Scholars (Oxford)? Do they lose theirs? Bill Clinton, Rachel Maddow, Kris Kristofferson, Bill Bradley, Wesley Clark, Pat Hayden (quarterback)????

  • Why don't you and anyone else who can't believe we have a Black president just leave? Congress should pass a law to allow citizens to put people like you in boats bound for Alaska. That would make this country better and less racist.....good luck!

  • This question won't go away until obama answers ALL QUESTIONS AND SHOWS US ALL THE DOCUMENTATION the public wants and needs to see regarding this issue. There is probably nothing out there to find, but yet obama and so many of his supporters get nervous when this issue is brought up.

  • You obviously can't handle the truth. That is, he is a U.S. citizen, AND the president elect :)

  • He would not have made it this far without his credentials being reviewed. If there was something to be found the wolves that are hot on his trail would have already found it.

  • born to filipino parents, adopted at birth.

  • He was in a Catholic school in Indonesia for two years, a public one for about a year. Things were VERY different in Indonesia in the late 60s when he was there with his mother. He didn't have to be "legal" (an Indonesian citizen) to be in school. He never gave up his US citizenship and returned to start the 5th grade in Honolulu.

  • Fact: He was born in Hawaii
Fact: Hawaii was a state at the time
Fact: Living abroad doesn't negate your citizenship

  • There are some nuts who believe he's not a citizen. There are also nuts who think McCain isn't a citizen (the case is stronger for him -- he was born in the Canal Zone).

  • He's the President ergo he is an American citizen. Would you crazies just drop it already!
