Could he have been a student in Indonesian schools without losing his citizenship, if so did he/could he take steps to legally regain it?You don't lose your citizenship if you go and study or live
abroad, stop posting stupid questions.He was born in Africa since his mother was not allowed to get on the plane to the states since she was so close to labor. Things were VERY different in Indonesia in the late 60s when he was there with his mother. He didn't have to be "legal" (an Indonesian citizen) to be in school. He never gave up his US citizenship and returned to start the 5th grade in Honolulu. Fact: He was born in Hawaii
