Also, anybody know what percentage of our sixty-million odd citizens would be considered 'real' british? If you have Angle or Saxon in your blood you are not British as these were German tribes. I consider myself English (as I was born here) but not British as I am half English, a quarter Danish and a quarter Ukranian. A 'Real Briton' would have ancestry to before the Roman invasion and most likely live in Wales, Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.I'm Caucasian, who was born in Britain, so yes I am.
At the moment I think it will be around 50% with the sheer ammount of immigrants in the country. And anyone who was NOT born in Britain or was born to non British born people and brought up with another culture IS NOT real British.Depends on who you ask.
I bet there are not many people who could trace all their family back, even 100 years, and every one of them was born in britain. My Grandmas Grandad was German. My wifes great-grandad was Dutch.
Would you consider me and my wife british. I dont drink lager and my wife doesnt wear clogs so how would you tell?
I have no idea.
Is real British generations of only British born ancestors?...I have those.
No colour other than white?...Thats me.
Unfortunately my really British dad met my not so British mother and I was not born in Britain because my dad was in the forces abroad!
I became a permanent resident in the UK when I was six.
So...am I British? Personally I don't care. I am a human on a planet with other humans. Thats good enough for me:)I am, born and bred here !!!None we were all from a tribe in Africa, back in the first days of homo sapiens.According to Londonma i am.I was born here, so were my parents. I have traced my father's family back to the 16th century - they all lived in Britain, and my mother's back to the 18th century - they were all British. Does that make me a real Briton? I think so. But I'm also a European and first and foremost I am a human being.Yes - we wise men of the village only discuss this the other day in Oldham Mosque.Yep, I am real British. In that I am half Saxon, a quarter Irish, about an eighth Viking and everything else is anybody's guess. But I've lived here since before my grandfathers were born and I could read the Daily Mail if I were forced to. You know, at machete point. im pretty sure i am. I think im half celtic half anglo saxon as my parents bear obvious traits of each type. Genetics aside i am as british as they get. I love my country even with its faults and would never give up my citizenship to another country, if another nation tried to invade i would be the first to join up to stop them, and i hope anyone else who claims to be british would do the same.
Scarlett write: if you are so proud of being west indian and not so keen on being british....do i even need to finish the sentence?I like to think so. I am a quarter Irish, English, Welsh and Polish. Despite only fifty percent of my ancestors being technically British in ethnicity, I am extremely British in my mannerisms and I am disgusted by what I and many others see as a decline of our values in our own country. This is a disgrace and I will fight to stop it before it is too late.Everyone's definition of 'real' British is different, so perhaps the legal definition of a British Citizen is the only valid definition.
So yes, I am real British.I'm white, my family's history is in britain and goes back generations and generation , and i was born in britain. So yes, i am british.
If i was to have children whilst living in India say, then they wouldn't automatically be indian. It just doesn't work like that.REAL British are families that can trace their ancestors back many decades, at least back to the 1800's. Anyone since then is not truly British.
I suspect you are an Asian living in Britain, sorry no wish to offend but are not real British
If you are Asian you would help the situation by not trying try steal real British nationality, this is offencive to real BritishNo, I am not. So sorryIf being real british is being xenophobic, intolerant of difference, being WHITE, born in this country and to have 7 plus sets of ancestors born here then NO i am not "real British".
I am very proud to be West Indian though!!
Being British does not have any meaning whatsoever...Wales, Scotland and Ireland all have their traditions and cultures and value them...England doesn't even celebrate St. Georges day or the Christian faith it was founded on, it has eroded it's own history so to demand a return to the "real Britain" would be a challenge as it does not exist.
I am. I like roast beef and warm beer and everything i dnt know what ur tlkin bout lolz but im real british XD#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
