I make approximately 43K. I claimed 1 on the worksheet for Colorado. I just started a new job. My paycheck had over $400 taken out of it for a two week pay period. That seems outrageous to me. That's about 25% of what I make. I know there are state taxes but isn't this alot. I would like to know my liability so I can get more in my checks without having to pay taxes when I do my return in 2009.25% is actually a bit low--I pay nearly 28%, in WI.25% sounds about right, at least for now.
